You Are My Sunshine…My only D3
Every single day for the past two+ years, my “fibroid treatment choice” Google alerts have been lighting up like a perpetually turning disco-globe…blinking blinking and more blinking. And everyday for the past two+ years I have dutifully combed and shuffled through article after article, reading all sorts of useful and not so useful information about the dreaded fibroid! I definitely have earned my non-degree botanists status with the amount of literature that I have consumed regarding herbal treatments and their curative qualities for ridding those ferocious fibroids. I remain dubious as to the efficacy of most of these herbal “miracle” cures…another topic for another day.
Please please, keep in mind that I am not a doctor, and that I am not recommending any action on your part…but…through my research (and my “in-house” use of myself as a guinea pig) I have concluded that one of the most important gifts that you could give yourself (both curatively as well as a preventive measure) is to become knowledgeable on the subject of Vitamin D3. Simple as that!
Thankfully, D3 has become the shiny (pun-intended) new hot (again, intended) topic…and for thousands of good reasons. Meet D3!! Here are but a few factoids: Vitamin D3 is one of the oldest hormones, having been produced by life-forms for over 750 million years. Most plants and animals that are exposed to sunlight have the capacity to make D3. In humans, D3 is critical for the healthy development, growth and maintenance of our bodies life’s-journey. Human’s are capable of making thousands of units of D3 within minutes of whole-body-exposure to sunlight. And I might add, just knowing the wonders of nature, it is unlikely such a system evolved by chance! I’m just sayin’!!
I urge you to read a bit more on the wonders of D3, as you will be amazed at the positive effects that it possesses. Dr. Mercola’s website has the most detailed information (in one place) of any site(s) that discuss D3 and he includes details of the amounts to be taken. Before I end this blog, supplying a few quotes iterated by learned D3 researchers, I need to pose one question that has me “hmmmmm-ing” all over the place. Here it is: We already know that American blacks are more prone to fibroids…and that American blacks do NOT synthesize the sun’s D3 as effectively as American whites do (thus having less D3 in their blood-system)…sooooooo, my question is, “could there be a relationship between low levels of D3 and fibroids!?!?” I do believe it needs a study!
The following are quotes by reputable researchers/doctors involved in the D3 studies (and keep in mind that these researchers are saints, as there is NO money in D3…just altruism and the joy of giving to the knowledge-tree!!!)
“Because vitamin D3 is so cheap and so clearly reduces all-cause mortality, I can say this with great certainty: Vitamin D3 represents the single most cost-effective medical intervention in the United States.” ….Dr. Greg Plotnikoff, Abbbot Northwestern Hosp., Minneapolis
“No other method to prevent cancer has been identified that has such a powerful impact.” ….Dr. Cedric Garland, Vitamin D3 expert.
“In all my many years of practice of medicine, I’ve never seen one vitamin, even vitamin C, have such profound effects on human health.” ….Dr. Soram Khalsa, board-certified internist and medical director for the East-West Medical Research Institute.
“Vitamin D3 deficiency is an unrecognized, emerging cardiovascular risk factor, which should be screened for and treated. Vitamin D is easy to assess, and supplementation is simple, safe, and inexpensive.” ….Dr. James O’Keefe, cardiologist and director, Mid America Heart Institute, KC, Missouri.
“This is like the Holy Grail of cancer medicine; vitamin D produced a drop in cancer rates greater than that for quitting smoking, or indeed any other countermeasure in existence.” …. Dennis Mangan, clinical laboratory scientist.
One more mentionable…with the new shift towards prevention as a viable and an essential cost-cutting measure regarding our healthcare “issues,” I do believe that vitamin D3 will play a major major role in keepin’ us vital and strong!! Do the research, see for yourself…right now I need to go out and catch some rays!!
